Hi! I’m Michelle Toner.
I’m based in Western Massachusetts and design spatial analysis to solve environmental problems.
Over the past several years, my work has shifted toward more complex and integrated projects, where approaches often need to be adapted or built from the ground up. I shape how spatial analysis is approached, building custom workflows, supporting multidisciplinary teams, and translating technical data into tools and visuals that are used to make decisions. My experience spans climate resilience, environmental science, urban systems, contaminated site management, and natural resource management.
A core part of my approach is making complex spatial information understandable. Whether through maps, automated workflows, or visual communication, I focus on creating outputs that are clear, practical, and usable.
I also bring a background in coaching, leadership, and public speaking, which shapes how I collaborate, communicate, and design tools for others.
Outside of work, I’m a longtime mineral collector and try to be thoughtful about how I build my collection. I’m also a swimmer who has competed at the marathon distance and I enjoy working in a range of creative mediums, including piano, watercolor, wire jewelry, and cake design.
